Reservoir Engineer – Waterflood Assets, Houston, TX

CSI is working with a well-established small E & P company located in Houston.  Our client is looking for a Waterflood focused Reservoir Engineer with broad basin experience in the Permian, Rockies and Mid Con.

The ideal candidate would have recent Waterflood experience and be in the range of 7-15 years of overall oil and gas experience.

The role is responsible for maximizing value of company assets through reserve and production growth. Conduct reservoir engineering evaluations on selected properties to evaluate their potential, predict reservoir performance, evaluate completion strategies, optimize future depletion and development plans. Such evaluations may include pressure and rate transient analysis, fracture optimization, decline curve analysis, nodal analysis, material balance calculations, well and reservoir modeling, waterflood studies and economic analysis. Evaluate and initiate exploitation opportunities including new drill wells and workovers. Operational and stimulation knowledge is preferred. Must be self-motivated and able to work individually as well as within an integrated team environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, strong preference for Petroleum Engineering with industry experience as a reservoir engineer.
  • Must have strong technical background in reservoir engineering including decline curve analysis, material balance, volumetrics, waterflood studies, pressure transient analysis, nodal analysis, etc. and a good understanding of geology.
  • Must have a working knowledge of commercial oil and gas economics software (experience with Petra, Aries and PhdWin would be highly desired)
  • Ability to accomplish tasks with minimal supervision. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience
